What is this website?
Teacher Planner (teacherplanner.ai) is an online planbook for teachers. It keeps a fixed weekly timetable, day, week, and month views, and draft tools for lesson plans, worksheets, and quizzes in one account, so teachers can schedule lessons, shift a class that was interrupted, and avoid recopying from a blank page. A timetable can be uploaded as a photo or PDF and saved after classes and periods are checked. Materials start from a topic or existing text. Plans can be continued on another device and printed in a chosen layout. Grades, assignment submission, and a school learning management system are outside its scope.
Core features
- Upload a photo or PDF of a fixed weekly timetable, read classes, days, and times, and review before saving. A/B rotations and whole-school timetables cannot be imported.
- View plans by day, week, or month, and use Unit Timeline and Outline to see the longer teaching sequence.
- When a lesson is cancelled or needs more time, use Bump Forward to shift that lesson and the following lessons without retyping the content.
- Draft lesson plans, worksheets, multiple-choice questions with an answer key, rewritten text, and writing feedback from a topic, learning objectives, standards, a reading passage, or existing text. The result needs a human check.
- Print in the browser or save a PDF. Free includes basic printing with the Minimal template. Pro and Lifetime add Classic, Cards, outline printing, custom date ranges, and finer print settings.
- Standards Tracker and unlimited planbooks belong to Pro and Lifetime. AI tools are available on every account tier, and each generation shows a usage limit.
Common use cases
- At the start of a term, when a weekly timetable from the previous week or school year already exists: upload a photo or PDF, check classes and periods, then edit the teaching days for the current schedule.
- When an assembly or a cancellation breaks one lesson: use Bump Forward so that lesson and the following lessons each move forward one day, and the sequence stays in place.
- Before the next lesson needs practice or a short quiz: send the topic or reading passage to the matching tool, then check facts, the answer key, and difficulty before printing or saving to resources.
- For an elementary day with several subjects, secondary periods, homeschool, or a learning pod: put goals and activities in the day view, then lengthen or shorten a unit when the pace is off.
- For co-planning: give a colleague the same readable weekly plan so they can see that day's subjects, goals, and activities.
Who is it for?
- Working teachers with a fairly fixed timetable who want a printable planbook stored in an account.
- People who teach several subjects or periods and want to switch among day, week, and month views without opening another document.
- Homeschool or learning-pod settings that need to lengthen or shorten a topic.
- A poor fit when school workflow requires grades, student submissions, and confidential student records in the same system. The site states that it does not replace an LMS or gradebook.
- A poor fit when the timetable is an A/B rotation or a whole-school schedule and the expectation is that an import will be ready to use. Those formats are not supported for import.
How does it compare with similar tools?
Three checks matter before choosing it. Rankings are not part of this comparison.
Against a paper planbook: plans stay in the account and can be continued on another device. A schedule change uses a forward shift instead of recopying a whole page. The free tier has one planbook, and printing is limited to Minimal.
Against a school learning management system or gradebook: this covers teaching plans and drafts of classroom materials. Scores, submission records, and confidential student files should stay in the system the school designates.
Against a general chat tool opened on its own: lesson plans, worksheets, quizzes, text rewriting, and writing feedback are separate entries. Input can be an existing passage, assignment details, or feedback criteria. The site asks you to check facts, answers, and difficulty before copying, downloading, or printing. Paid plans add unlimited planbooks, Standards Tracker, and print control. The one-time Lifetime payment of $299 does not include a separate or unlimited AI allowance, and generation limits are the same across accounts.
FAQ
Q: Does Teacher Planner cost money?
A: The free tier is $0 on an ongoing basis. It includes one planbook, day, week, and month views, and basic printing with the Minimal template. Signing up does not require a credit card. AI tools are included, and each tool shows current usage. Pro is listed on the pricing page at $9.90 per month, with monthly or yearly billing. Lifetime is a one-time payment of $299 for the Pro planning features listed on the page. Refunds follow the billing section of the terms of service and applicable law.
Q: Can an existing timetable be imported?
A: You can upload a photo or PDF of a fixed weekly timetable. The system reads classes, days, and times, and you review them before saving. Grids and plain lists are supported. A/B rotations and whole-school timetables cannot be imported. A timetable from a previous term can be imported first, then edited for classes, periods, or teaching days.
Q: Can generated materials go straight to students?
A: The site asks you to check whether the facts are accurate and whether the answer key and difficulty fit the class, then edit. After that, the draft can be saved to resources, or you can use that tool's copy, text download, and print options. AI output is explicitly a draft and does not replace a teacher's judgment.
Q: Can names in student work be pasted in?
A: Identifiable student information should be left out. Remove names, student IDs, and contact details from student work before using it, and follow the school's rules for AI tools. The privacy policy states that entering student personal information is not required, and that lesson content is not used to build advertising profiles. If a district needs a data processing agreement, or if FERPA, COPPA, or GDPR applies, contact support@teacherplanner.ai first.
