EffectHub Introduction

What is this site?

EffectHub is an independently maintained catalog of AI tools. Listings go live after review and show pricing with sources, platforms, public API availability, close alternatives, comparison pages, and the date the site was last checked alive. Each tool carries an Effect score built from observable signals, plus related Trust information. Paid submissions buy review speed and placement—not rank or scores.

Core features

  • Browse live AI tools by task or category, with search and a map view
  • Effect score (0–100): weighted demand, ratings, multi-source corroboration, liveness, and listing completeness; missing signals are skipped rather than zeroed
  • Tool pages show pricing, platforms, API, alternatives, and head-to-head comparisons
  • Scheduled liveness checks; discontinued tools keep a marked page instead of vanishing
  • Task pages offer shortlists and price bands; an MCP server index is also present (some capabilities marked coming soon)
  • Makers can submit free with a badge, or pay once for faster review; scores and organic rank are not for sale

Common use cases

  • Find candidates for a concrete job (for example text-to-image or support bots) and compare price and status
  • Check last-verified dates and discontinued flags before relying on a product
  • Narrow options with alternatives lists and vs pages
  • Submit a product for a catalog page and computed scores without buying rank
  • Explore the map for where tools are built and related events

Who is it for?

  • Selectors who need to verify whether a tool is alive, roughly priced, and has alternatives
  • Screeners who want explainable signals instead of ad-driven leaderboards
  • Makers who want listing exposure while accepting system-computed scores
  • Poor fit: people chasing marketing rankings, or anyone expecting payment to buy organic #1
  • Also poor fit: deep hands-on evaluations or contract-grade compliance audits (this site is a catalog and signal summary)

How does it compare to similar tools?

  • Want liveness rechecks, explainable scores, and alternatives/vs pages: this site emphasizes a maintained catalog
  • Want long community reviews or software review essays: review sites can complement it
  • Want one huge scrape dump: EffectHub only publishes entries that clear a completeness bar; drafts stay in the import pool
  • Payment affects review queue and labeled ads only—not organic rank or scores (per site policy)

FAQ

Q: Can I buy an Effect score?
A: No. The site says a listing can be bought; rank, scores, and reviews cannot.

Q: What are the free submission conditions?
A: The free path requires placing the EffectHub badge on your own site. After approval, daily checks hide the listing while the badge is missing.

Q: Are discontinued tools deleted?
A: Not silently. Repeated failed checks mark a tool discontinued and keep the reason and dates.

Q: Does catalog size change?
A: Yes. The homepage shows the current live count, which moves with review. Unreviewed items in the larger tracking pool do not enter the live catalog.
